Understanding what is VoIP?
VoIP is the short form for
Voice over Internet Protocol.
Some quarters refer to it as Voice over Broadband and Voice over
Networks. It is also called Internet Telephony. It is the delivery of
voice and multimedia (such as video calling) sessions over the internet.
The term Internet telephony is usually used to refer to communications
sent over public internet. These may be fax, SMS, voice or voice
messaging. VoIP enables one to make free or very cheap calls to other
phones over the internet regardless of the equipment that the receiver
has.
